ENDWELL – After pushing out two wins at the end of the 2023 regular season, the Greene Trojans field hockey team was one of three teams in the Section IV, Class A tournament. They faced against two tough powerhouses, Maine-Endwell and Windsor. Greene, as the third seed, traveled to Maine-Endwell on Tuesday, where they suffered a tough 3-2 loss.
Greene had defeated the Spartans in double overtime 2-1 when they met in the first game of the 2023 season, but both teams had a different schedule leading up to this game and a different outcome this time around.
Greene got on the board 1-0 in the first quarter as Josie Dutcher took a pass from Nadia Brown on a penalty corner. The Trojans’ second goal was from Nadia Brown off an assist from Dutcher. The pair had worked perfectly all season and will continue to do so next year.
Greene finished the 2023 season at an even 8-8 record behind Whitney Point and Windsor in the divisional standings.
Great season, Trojans and best of luck seniors.
