City of Norwich Police welcome new recruits

NORWICH - The Norwich Police Department is proud to announce that their three recruits have graduated from the Broome County Law Enforcement Academy. 

Recruit Taylor Waite, Tyler King, and Andrew Brown completed a 6-month police academy, as well as a 6-week Field Training Course and Graduated on October 27, 2023, in the Binghamton Arena. 

“I’m very proud of these three officers.  They’ve endured tremendous adversity and are now a welcomed addition to the Norwich Police Department,” said NPD Chief Reuben Roach.

The graduates will be working in a full-time at the Norwich Police Department and will be handling police calls that come in. 

The Norwich Police Department reported they are projecting three additional openings in 2024 with upcoming retirements.
