Boys’ Basketball: B-G gets past Afton
BAINBRIDGE – The Bainbridge-Guilford Bobcats boys basketball team hosted Afton on Thursday evening, coming away with the 52-36 victory. It was the Bobcats’ second win of the season while the game was Afton’s season opener.
B-G stayed consistent with scoring 15 points in the first and third quarters while 11 points were scored in the second and fourth quarters. Coming off a impressive performance on Monday, James Hogroian led the Bobcats with 19 points while teammate Michael Lipani posted 15, including laying down three three’s. Arlen Sherman had six points on some great plays while Giovanni Johnson was fierce on defense in the win.
Afton was led by Ryan Wright and Equan Patterson, who gave the Bobcats a bit of a hard time throughout the contest. Wright led the Crimson Knights with 13 points as Patterson had 12. Afton stayed up tempo with B-G in the first half of play, but fell short in the final 16 minutes.
The 2023 season keeps rolling along for the MAC league as B-G will play its third game of the season Saturday against Trumansburg at 5 p.m. Afton is participating in the Deposit-Hancock tip-off tournament this weekend, starting tonight against the host school at 7:15 p.m.
