Girls’ Basketball: B-G celebrates Coach Conway’s 500th win, defeats Deposit/Hancock

BAINBRIDGE – It was an exciting night at Bainbridge-Guilford High School as the Lady Bobcats hosted Deposit/Hancock on Tuesday evening. B-G defeated the Eagles 59-38. The night was extra special because it was Coach Bob Conway’s 500th Bainbridge-Guilford win. Coach Conway is close to having a total of 600 wins in his entire coaching career. He earned his 500th official career win in the 2016 season with the Bobcats. Congratulations, Coach.
B-G ignited in the first two quarters of play, going into the half with a dominant 37-10 lead. Their strength as a team would continue in the second half to achieve victory, despite the Eagles’ Sarah Gross scoring 36 of her team’s 38 points. Jayslin Henderson and Johnna Henderson both led the Bobcats with 17 points and eight rebounds. Jayslin Henderson also had a team-high of 10 steals while Johnna had seven.
Marissa Mayo added 11 points in the win while Danica Park contributed with seven points in her return to the lineup.
B-G (2-2) hosts Unatego on Friday at 7:15 p.m.
