Boys' Basketball: Greene comes up short vs CV in double overtime
CHENANGO VALLEY - After wrapping up some extra preparation before diving further into the season, the Greene Trojans boys’ basketball team returned to live action against non-league opponent Chenango Valley. Greene fell short in the hard fought MAC vs STAC league match-up 57-56 in double overtime.
Chenango Valley took a brief 28-20 lead at halftime before Greene stepped up its efforts, especially in the final eight minutes of regulation to force the game into overtime. The senior-heavy Trojans came up just short in only the third game of the season.
Greene was led by senior Joel Vielandi who broke out with 24 points, settling in with three three-pointers as teammate Trevor Ketcham finished with 10 points. Will Dunlap had eight points as Parker Flanagan stays hot, knocking down two three's with six points in the loss.
Greene (1-2) has a rest period before hosting MAC opponent Afton on Friday, December 15 at 7:15 p.m.
