Oxford Boys and girls teams in day one of Edmeston tournament

EDMESTON – The Oxford Blackhawks boys and girls basketball teams are spending holiday break competing in the Edmeston holiday tournament. Both teams played in the opening round of the tournament against the host school, coming away with close losses.
The Oxford Boys fell to Edmeston 36-29. Donovan Rickard and Jared Sheridan scored eight points each in the loss. Oxford will face Schenevus in the tournament consolation game.
The Blackhawks girls’ fell to Edmeston/Morris 49-32. Taegan Manwarren and Margaret Rovente both had nine points each in the loss. Oxford faces Union-Endicott in the tournament consolation game.
