Oxford Basketball teams wrap up Edmeston tournament

EDMESTON – After falling in both opening round games to start the Edmeston tournament, the Oxford Blackhawks basketball teams returned Friday for the consolation games.
The boys defeated Schenevus 67-37. Caden Rifanburg led a three-point savvy team with 15 points as he knocked in one three. Jared Sheridan finished with 14 points as Donovan Rickard followed with 13 points and Ben Sheridan had nine points. Jared, Ben, and Rickard all hit two three’s in the win. Rickard was named to the all-tournament team. Also, Congratulations to the Oxford JV boys for winning the Edmeston tournament.
The Oxford Blackhawks girls’ basketball team fell to Union-Endicott 49-23 in the tournament consolation game. Senior Jocie Finch was named to the tournament all-star team.
Both teams resume regular season play this week with the boys hosting Bainbridge-Guilford on Thursday at 7:15 p.m. and the girls traveling to Greene on Friday at 7:15 p.m.
