Boys’ Basketball: UV earns first win of season vs Harpursville

HARPURSVILLE – The Unadilla Valley Storm boys’ basketball team has had their shares of hardship this season, but now they can breathe a sigh of relief after picking up their first win. UV defeated Harpursville 59-45 on Thursday evening. The Storm called up a few JV players to build a whole team atmosphere.
It was an all-around team effort for the Storm with Harpursville having one player shine with 32 points. Eight UV players picked up at least one basket with Tucker Cattanach paving the way with a team-high of 18 points. Denzel Peter had 11 points as Haywood Edwards and Zach Smith matched with nine points each. Seth Meagley strived with five points in his varsity stint.
UV is 1-1 in the MAC league standings and is 1-8 overall. UV looks to keep things rolling as they host Bainbridge-Guilford on Wednesday at 7:15 p.m.
