Girls’ Basketball: OV earns first win of season vs Stockbridge Valley

SOUTH OTSELIC – With many tough games this season, the Otselic Valley Lady Vikings can finally breathe a sigh of relief after battling it out against Stockbridge Valley, where they picked up their first win of the season. OV pushed through in the third quarter to win 27-25 on Wednesday night.
Both teams were off to a slow start in the first half with Stockbridge taking a brief 12-10 lead at halftime. OV came out after halftime focused, which allowed them to strive with 15 points in the third quarter and holding Stockbridge to six points. The final quarter was slow on both teams, but OV stayed confident, where at the final buzzer, the win was theirs, even by a close margin.
Miranda Hackett led the Vikings with 10 points, knocking in two three-pointers. She also contributed with nine rebounds, five steals, and three blocks. Emma Rooker, Gracie Rooker, and Caylene Russell all had five points while Lilly Palmer added two in the win.
OV (1-10) hosts Fabius-Pompey this evening at 6 p.m.
