Norwich flag football kicks off 2024 season
BINGHAMTON – The Norwich Purple Tornado flag football team is back in action for its third official season. In their inaugural season, they made the silver bracket finals, but lost to Chenango Valley while falling to Owego in the first round of sectionals last year. Norwich is looking to make it big this year and are already off to a good start after defeating Binghamton 24-6 on Tuesday night. Norwich has five seniors this year; Andie Mucha, Julie Turner, Maya Adolff, Julia Llewellyn, and Olivia Schiraldi and look to come out strong for them this season.
With construction ongoing at the football field at Norwich High School, the flag football team, along with the track and field team, is unable to host any events this year, but they will still be very competitive this season. It will be exciting to see them locally this season as Greene also has a flag football team, which is brand new this year. The Norwich-Greene matchup is scheduled for May 11.
Norwich is right back in action this evening at Sus Valley, starting at 6 p.m.
