Man recently released from jail leads police on vehicle chase from Norwich High School

NORWICH – On Saturday, police were led on a vehicle chase into a neighboring county after responding to reports of thefts from vehicles at the Norwich High School.

Norwich Police Chief Reuben Roach reported, “On May 4, 2024, at approximately 1:09 p.m. the Norwich Police Department received a call about an individual stealing from parked vehicles in the Norwich High School parking lot.”

“Shortly thereafter, Norwich officers located the suspect in a stolen vehicle and an approximately 30-mile vehicle pursuit ensued from Norwich, into Otsego County and eventually ending in Mt. Upton, NY where the suspect ran the stolen vehicle into a ditch,” he said.
