Section IV Golf Tournament: Greene’s Flanagan advances to states; Lipani and Paden make top nine in class D

CHENANGO COUNTY – The Section IV spring Golf Tournament was underway over the weekend and on Monday afternoon, featuring local county golfers who had been patiently waiting since their season ended in the fall. Greene’s Parker Flanagan, Bainbridge-Guilford’s Michael Lipani, Afton/Harpursville’s Ryan Dawson, and Oxford’s Bennett Paden all participated in sectionals, where they all had great turnouts.
Flanagan and Dawson competed in the Section IV individual medalist tournament in Elmira over the weekend. Both made the final round for a chance to make the cut for states. Flanagan did just that and finished third. He heads back to Elmira for the state tournament on June 1 with a practice round before the first round on that Sunday and the final round on Monday the third. Congratulations, Parker.
Lipani and Paden played in the Section IV, Class D tournament held at Delhi on Monday. Both golfers, who had a great season for their respective teams, made the top nine. Lipani finished third with a score of +5 as Paden came in seventh with a score of +11.
