UNION SPRINGS – After a big win against Elmira-Notre Dame, the Bainbridge-Guilford Bobcats softball team traveled to take on the number two-seed Union Springs. B-G got on the board early on, but Union Springs was right there with them and secured the 6-3 victory. B-G had a strong 16-3 season for its talented team who won many tournaments this year and scored 10 or plus runs in multiple games.
B-G got on the board in the top of the first inning with Gabby Cuozzo’s two-run single. Union Springs tied the game in the bottom half of the inning with the game settling in to a back-and-forth affair. However, Union Springs took the lead in the bottom of the third inning with four runs, which was enough to win.
B-G answered back with just one run in the top of the fourth inning as Tori Suda scored on a passed ball. Suda, Cuozzo, Kaylin Furgason, and Danica Park all added one hit each as Breanna Casey led the team by going 2-for-4 at the plate.
Great season, B-G and best of luck to the seniors.
