NY State Police: Greene man killed in UTV accident

SMITHVILLE - On Wednesday, May 29, the New York State Police responded to a fatal crash in Smithville.
At approximately 9:32 p.m., New York State Police at Norwich were dispatched to an accident involving a UTV and personal injury crash in the town of Smithville. 
Smithville EMS was rendering assistance to both males when troopers arrived.
An investigation revealed that a UTV was on Waldon Road in the town of Smithville when the operator lost control, left the roadway, struck a tree and the UTV came to rest on its side. 
The operator, William J. Williams, age 52 of Greene, NY did not survive. 
The passenger, a 24-year-old male of Greene, NY was transported to Wilson Medical Center for non-life-threatening injuries.
The investigation is on-going.
