Chenango County proudly represented at the 2024 PONY League All-Star Game

COOPERSTOWN – The 2024 PONY League All-Star Game was held on Wednesday, July 31 from Doubleday Field in Cooperstown. The game featured the coaches of the each championship team; Unatego and Delhi, and each team split athletes from the league.

Chenango County was proudly represented in each team with Oxford, Sherburne-Earlville, and Unadilla Valley athletes on one team and Norwich’s Noah Eddy and Pierce Sherman on the other team.

Coach Cairns’, from Delhi, team, which featured Oxford’s Nic Dodzweit, Brent Hamilton, Sherburne-Earlville’s Colin Pudney, and Unadilla Valley’s Declan Potter, defeated Unatego’s Coach Vandermark’s team 9-1 through nine innings played.

Pudney had an RBI with a bases-loaded walk and Hamilton walked twice while Potter walked once. Pudney and Hamilton also stole a base. Nic Dodzweit drilled a triple deep to center field, which he’s been known for hard hit balls throughout the season for Oxford, including one inside the park home run in their final PONY League game, but he failed to score as the next three batters struck out.
