Rock out to soul-filled blues at the 31st annual Chenango Blues Festival

Last year, loyal blues fans crowded together to enjoy soulful bluesy music filling the air at the Chenango Blues Festival. This year, The Blues Festival celebrates its 31st year and begins at 5 p.m., Friday, August 16 and 10 a.m., Saturday, August 17, at the Chenango County Fairgrounds, located at 168 East Main Street. NORWICH — It's time to get your boogie on at the Chenango Blues Festival, Friday, August 16 and Saturday, August 17, in the Chenango County Fairgrounds, located at 168 East Main Street.


“Welcome to the Preferred Mutual 31st Chenango Blues Festival. It’s hard to believe our all volunteer run event is moving beyond its third decade, makes a few of us feel pretty old,” said Chenango County Blues Association President Eric Larsen. “We never would have made it this far without a loyal group of fans, donors and volunteers, so thanks to all of you- you are the ones who make it possible.”

“The Chenango Blues Fest is proud of its “By Fans, For Fans” reputation and we appreciate the loyalty and support of our many long-time supporters,” said Larsen. “If you’re here for your first time - welcome! If you’re here for your twentieth time- it’s great to have you back. All our volunteers hope it’s the best year yet, and if there is anything we can do to help you enjoy your visit please let us know.”


Friday, August 16, parking opens at 4:30 p.m. and the festival gate will open at 5 p.m. The band performances from 5:30 to 6:45 p.m. will be Davy Knowles, from 7:15 to 8:30 p.m. will be Bywater Call.The last show will be performed by Paul Thorn from 9 to 10:15 p.m.
