BAINBRIDGE - The Village of Bainbridge was recently awarded the Community Development Block Grant (CBDG) in the amount of $400,000, by the New York State Office of Community Renewal. The CBDG program provides funding for: housing rehabilitation, infrastructure in support of existing housing, public infrastructure, public facility, and technical assistance/community planning. The program is income based.


The village is seeking more applicants. So far, they have had 17 applications totaling less than $100,000. Thoma Consultants are administering the grant and will assist residents with the application.

According to the New York State Homes and Community Renewal Website, The Community Development Block Grant program provides financial assistance to eligible cities, towns, and villages with populations under 50,000 and counties with an area population under 200,000, to develop viable communities by providing decent, affordable housing, and suitable living environments, as well as expanding economic opportunities, principally for persons of low and moderate income.
