NORWICH — The NBT Bank Free Summer Concert Series is coming to a close on Thursday, August 29 with a performance by "musical mad scientist" Keller Williams at 7 p.m. in Norwich's East Park.

"Un-beholden to conventionalism, he seamlessly crosses genre boundaries. The end product is music that encompasses rock, jazz, funk, and bluegrass, and always keeps the audience on their feet," said the Chenango Blues Association about Williams' music style.

Williams' stage performances are unique, in that none of his shows are like the last. When performing alone, Williams sings both his own compositions and a selection of cover songs, while accompanying himself on acoustic guitar, bass, guitar synthesizers, and drum samples, using a technique known as "looping."

According to the Chenango Blues Association, "the end result often leans toward a hybrid of alternative folk and groovy electronica, a genre [Williams] jokingly calls 'acoustic dance music' or 'ADM.'"

His musical career has led to several band projects as well, including Keller & The Keels, Grateful Grass, KWahtro, Keller and the Travelin’ McCourys, Grateful Gospel, and More Than A Little.

The NBT Bank Free Summer Concert Series is a rain or shine event. In the event of potentially dangerous weather, concerts may be moved to an alternate location. Updates will be posted on the Chenango Blues Association Facebook page and ChenangoBluesFest.org by noon on the performance date.
