Greene girls swim hosts Forks

GREENE – The Greene Trojans girls’ swim team welcomed Chenango Forks to the high school pool on Tuesday evening. Coach Kelly was excited to have senior Lexi Clark return for her first meet of the season, and said that she picked right up where she left off, while teammate Keeli Roe came away with a season-best swim in the 500 yard event.

Roe swam a season best of 8:32.18 in the 500 yard freestyle event for fourth place and also took fourth in the 200 yard freestyle (3:13.22). Aside from Roe’s season-best swim, Savannah Nowalk won the 100 yard freestyle event with a top time of 1:10.60 with Clark in fourth and Louise Mendolia in sixth. Nowalk also finished second in the 50 yard freestyle with a time of 31.48 seconds, behind Forks’ 30.42. Clark came in fourth place while Corrine Dicenzo took sixth. Dicenzo also swam in the 100 yard backstroke, where she finished third.
