Golf: Oxford honors seniors in win over Delhi

OXFORD – The Oxford Blackhawks golf team hosted Delhi on Tuesday afternoon, and recognized their senior players. Prior to the match, the Oxford Blackhawks recognized its two seniors; Kyle Benjamin and Abby Denz, who was a part of the top six golfers in the close 216-223 victory.
Sophomore Degan Endress paved the way for Oxford with a 38 while eighth grader Uri Tracy shot a career best 40. Benjamin followed with a 44 as Bennett Paden shot a 45. Denz finished with a 49 as Blake Barrows had a 51.
Delhi’s scores ranged from a low of 42 to a high 47, which Oxford sealed the victory with the 38 and the 40.
Oxford improves to 7-3 on the season, behind unbeaten Greene, and will see the Trojans again on Friday. But before that, Oxford heads to Sherburne’s Mountain Top golf course to face Unadilla Valley at 3:30 p.m. this afternoon.
