Norwich golf wins Section IV, Class B Championship

HORSEHEADS – The Norwich Purple Tornado golf team has done it again. They have brought home another Section IV, Class B title. It is the team’s second straight title after finishing second in 2022.
Norwich topped Seton Catholic, Windsor, Owego, and Johnson City with the lowest score of a 411 at Soaring Eagles Golf Course in Horseheads.
Seventh grader Brevin Bennett led all of Class B with a 77 as Senior Julien Smith followed with a 78 and Matthew Brunick in third with a 81. Senior Jacob Dowdall finished 10th with an 87 as Gavin Burrell tied for 11th with an 88. Michael Brunick tied for 17th with a score of a 96.
Norwich officially wraps up the 2024 regular season on Thursday home against Oneonta at 4 p.m. before the STAC Championship on October 15.
