CHENANGO COUNTY — Commerce Chenango is offering access to the AI Training for Small Businesses webinar at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, October 23.

The webinar is free and open to chamber members only. The first 30 who register will be able to attend an in-person watch party at Commerce Chenango, located at 15 South Broad Street in Norwich, with refreshments provided and a discussion after the webinar.

To register, visit the CommerceChenango.com Events page. Individuals who cannot attend in person can email Commerce Chenango Communications and Marketing Coordinator Sophia Root at sroot@chenangony.org for the webinar link after registering.

Attendees will learn about how small businesses can utilize AI to save time, boost productivity, and enhance creativity.

"What we’re really hoping is people will be able to get an understanding of the impact of artificial intelligence on small businesses going forward," said Commerce Chenango President and CEO Sal Testani. "Obviously the impact of AI is being anticipated and felt almost everywhere, and I think as small businesses try to understand how they can utilize it to their advantages, I’m hoping that’s what people are going to learn at this seminar."

The AI Training for Small Businesses webinar will be approximately 90 minutes long and feature guest speakers Frank Kenny, CEO and Co-Founder of the Chamber Pros Community and leading AI expert, as well as Norma Davey, Creative Director and Co-Founder of the Chamber Pros Community and leading AI expert for marketing.

The Chamber Pros Community is a Facebook page for Chamber of Commerce professionals across the country where they can share ideas and get advice. Root said they also receive a weekly newsletter to let them know about opportunities such as the AI webinar.

"We’re hoping people will come and see if there’s opportunities like this for us to bring educational seminars to them. We’d love to hear their input, their feedback, but I think that for us it’s just an opportunity to provide some services to small businesses in our area," said Testani.

He added that Commerce Chenango hopes to provide more opportunities for trainings and seminars that will help local businesses in the future.

"We’re hoping to do more of these lunch and learns and different things like this as time goes on," said Testani. "We’ve done a few webinars, and we’re trying to figure out what’s the right rhythm of these, because you have to make sure that they provide value. All these businesses are incredibly busy, so if we’re going to do something like this for our members, we want to make sure that it has value for our members.

"Obviously AI is something that everybody’s aware of and trying to understand the impact on their business. So if we have issues like this come up, we certainly will continue to look for opportunities to do more of them."
