Greene Field Hockey falls short to M-E in semi-finals

GREENE – After finishing second in the the Section IV, Division II field hockey standings, the Greene Trojans field hockey team earned the second seed in the Class A tournament, where they hosted third seed Maine-Endwell. Greene fell short 3-2, ending their strong 2024 season. Greene finished 3-1 in the league and 11-6 overall.
Josie Dutcher scored both goals for the Trojans and finished with 20 goals, which led the team, and four assists overall. Both goals were assisted by senior Abby Yahner. Braelyn Blakeslee had five saves in the first three quarters and Mya Leggett-Carlin saved two shots without giving up a goal in the fourth quarter with Greene trying to tie the game. M-E held a 3-1 lead until Dutcher scored in the first few minutes of the fourth quarter.
Aside from Dutcher leading the team, Nadia Brown finished with six goals while Claire Flanagan and Abby Yahner both scoring five goals this season. Ahraya Whitt and Allison James both scored two goals with Whitt and Brown both having five assists. Dutcher, Yahner, and Flanagan all finished with four assists.
