BAINBRIDGE - The Bainbridge-Guilford Central School District celebrated Veterans Day by hosting its 9th Annual Veterans Day Breakfast at Greenlawn Elementary School on Friday, November 8.
The event brought together students, staff, and community members to honor local veterans and thank them for their service.
Attendees, included veterans from the New York State Veterans Home in Oxford, were treated to a hearty breakfast, accompanied by performances from the elementary school chorus and a rendition of The National Anthem by the school band.
The event was designed not only to thank veterans for their contributions, but also to help students learn about the significance of Veterans Day.
“We were honored to have our veterans from the NYS Veterans Home in Oxford attend this event for the second year in a row,” BG Superintendent Timothy Ryan said.
He said many people helped with the event and thanked District Secretary Kelly Grigoli and Greenlawn Principal Jennifer Henderson for helping to coordinate it months in advance.
“This is one of the most special events that we do each year,” said Ryan.
