4-H youth development programs registration is open

NORWICH — Registration is open for upcoming 4-H youth development programs and 4-H leaders invite the community youth to sign up for fun filled events to benefit others while enjoying new adventures in baking, cleaning and making dog treats.
Cloverbud 4-H participants ages five to seven will learn how to make dog treats from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m., November 20, in the Cornell Cooperative Extension (CCE) Chenango County building located at 99 North Broad Street.
“The idea came when I was thinking about how many Cloverbuds we have in our program,” said 4-H Animal Science and Agriculture Educator Victoria Ryan.
“These youth don’t have a ton of program opportunities specifically for them and I thought it would be fun to do a community service project with them,” Ryan said.
“After I decided on dog treats, I then thought about our SPCA and how we could give back to them in this season of giving,” she said. “When I reached out to the SPCA, they were thrilled with the idea.”
