Years of dedicated service recognized as tenured county employees retire

NORWICH — During a recent Chenango County Board of Supervisors meeting, Chairman Jeffrey Blanchard honored and congratulated tenured county employees upon their retirement, recognizing their significant contributions to the county.
On behalf of the board, Blanchard expressed gratitude for their service and extended thanks to retirees Jane Muserilli, Ellen Cleveland, Brian O’Connell, and Debra Fuller-Shimer.
Ellen Cleveland
Cleveland retired after more than 40 years of service, beginning in the Behavioral Health Services Department as an account clerk/typist. She advanced to senior account clerk in 1985, principal account clerk in 1988, administrative services officer in 1989, and budget technician in the Area Agency on Aging in 2001.
Heather Felter, Director of the Area Agency on Aging, praised Cleveland’s impact, saying, “The amount of people still coming into our office even after Ellen has been gone gives testament to the thousands of lives she has impacted over her career.”
Felter added, “She is greatly missed in our everyday operations and during open enrollment. Clients were sorry to see her go, but we deeply appreciate her time with us.”
