LAURENS – The Bainbridge-Guilford Bobcats girls basketball team started its 2024 season in the Pat Grasso Tournament at Laurens High School, where they defeated both Edmeston/Morris and South Kortright to win it all.

The Bobcats bring back many key returners this season including, Jayslin Henderson, who earned all-tournament honors, and Marissa Mayo, who was named tournament MVP.

On Friday, B-G defeated Edmeston/Morris 41-21. Jalyn Winans led the team with 12 points, where she went 4-for-6 at the line and made two three-pointers. Mayo followed with 10 points, including eight second half points. She also had five defensive rebounds and five steals. Jayslin Henderson finished with seven points as Peyton Umbra put up a three and finished with five points. Tori Suda chipped in four points and Emma Kinter had three points to close out the scoring.
