OV girls come away with big win over Cincinnatus
SOUTH OTSELIC – The Otselic Valley Vikings girls basketball team hosted Cincinnatus for their 2024 home opener on Tuesday, where they came away with a big 42-10 win. OV picked up their second win of the season, both against the Red Lions thus far, after defeating them in the Madison tournament consolation game.
Otselic Valley held Cincinnatus to single-digit scoring throughout the game, employing a slower-paced offense paired with a strong defense. The Vikings' standout performance came in the second quarter, where they dominated the Red Lions 18-1.
Cincinnatus had a single player, Lydia Scutt, post the team’s total 10 points.
Junior Miranda Hackett continues to impress this season as she led the team with 18 points, including knocking down two three-pointers. She also had seven rebounds and led the team with five steals.
Mackenzie Reandeau finished with nine points, 11 rebounds, and two steals. Emma Rooker and Riley Bartlett both contributed four points as Bartlett also came away with 11 rebounds and four steals.
Caylene Russell, Katie Kenyon, and Abiana White all chipped in two points as Gracie Rooker made one free-throw.
