Afton falls to GMU in hard-fought matchup

GILBERTSVILLE – After starting the season in the Deposit-Hancock tournament, the Afton Crimson Knights boys basketball team traveled to GMU on Tuesday. Both teams played a hard-fought non-league game with GMU taking the overall 51-43 victory.

Afton was down by 18 points early on, but then got right back into the game and stuck together as a team in an intense down-to-the wire game. Senior Ryan Wright led the team with 22 points with 12 points in the first half. Dion Bushaw followed with seven points as Max Cable had six points off the bench. Sam Mancuso laid down a three and Toni Obeada also chipped in three points. Kaden Kehoe contributed two points in the fourth quarter.
