BG boys fall to Vestal in non-league contest

VESTAL – The Bainbridge-Guilford boys basketball team traveled to Vestal on Saturday for an afternoon non-league matchup. B-G fell to the Golden Bears 55-32 in what was supposed to be a tournament, but became a non-league game instead for both teams.
B-G was limited in the first half as well as in the final eight minutes as Vestal stayed consistent offensively and dominated defensively.
The Bobcats played well after halftime, but were held to just two points in the fourth quarter alone without a chance to make a stop or big run.
Both teams were solid at the free-throw line with B-G going 8-for-10 and Vestal made 10-of-15 attempts.
Michael Lipani led the Bobcats with 12 points and went 4-for-4 on the line. Declyn Marshfield added five points as Tim Kinter and Levi Fletcher chipped in four points apiece. Aidan Haynes hit a three as Jaedan Walling also finished with three points. Dominick Johnson made one free-throw.
B-G (4-2) hosts the defending Class C champions, Moravia this evening at 6 p.m.
