SARATOGA – Over the weekend, the Norwich Purple Tornado wrestling team traveled to Saratoga to compete in the Saratoga Invitational, where they finished 16th out of 21 teams.

Maverick Beckwith continues his undefeated sophomore year as he won the 124 weight class and earned most outstanding wrestler at the invite. His toughest match of the invite was in the finals against Mohonasen's Nico Rivera. Beckwith defeated Rivera in a 5-4 decision and in a tie-breaker.

Beckwith is now 23-0 on the season as Norwich heads into a dual meet against Sus Valley on Wednesday at 6:30 p.m.
