S-E indoor track team competes at DiMao Invitational
HAMILTON – The Sherburne-Earlville Timberwolves indoor track team was in action to begin the new year as they competed in the John DiMao Memorial Invitational over the weekend at Colgate University. The S-E girls finished ninth out of 12 teams while the boys took 12th out of 13 teams.

Girls:
The S-E girls relay teams did well at the invite with the 4x400 team finishing sixth and the 4x200 team in eighth. Hannah Barth, Lydia Brown, Samantha Garrison, and Marlie Thompson led the 4x400 team while a team of Alana Brady, Aurora Burk, Beyla Cron, and Samantha Markiewicz ran the 4x200.
Avery Solloway led the Timberwolves individually in three events. She finished third in the 300 meter dash with a new best time of 46.45 seconds as teammate Aurora Burk came in 25th with her own best time of 1:00.96.
Solloway also sprinted to an eighth place finish in the 55 meter dash as Samatha Garrison came in 23rd and Beyla Cron in 30th. Solloway finished fifth in the high jump with a jump of four feet, four inches.
Marlie Thompson, Hannah Barth, and Lydia Brown all competed in the 600 meter run together, where Thompson led the trio with a 13th place finish. Barth finished 17th with a new best time of 2:22.92 as Brown came in 19th (2:30.29). Barth also finished fourth in the long jump with a jump of six feet exactly.
MacKenzie Chase led S-E with a 12th place finish in the weight throw with a new best throw of 21 feet, four inches as Alana Brady followed in 13th with her new best of 20-5.
Boys:
Liam Acly, Aiden Howland, Thomas Osborne, and Braden Lewis led the S-E boys to a sixth place finish in the 4x200 meter relay before splitting off for the individual events.
Lewis earned a seventh place finish in the 600 meter run with a new best time of 1:33.11 with Osborne in 20th, picking up his own new personal best time of 2:05.71. Lewis also finished 13th in the weight throw with a throw of 28 feet, seven inches with Acly ahead of him in seventh (new best 33-0) and Howland behind him in 15th (25-0.75).
Tristan Cox led S-E in multiple events, where he took eighth in the long jump with a new best jump of 14 feet, three and a quarter inches. He also finished 20th in the 55 meter dash with a new best time of 7.76 seconds. Dominick Hirst came in 22nd in the same event along with Brett Lewis in 27th.
Hirst, Cox, and Brett Lewis also competed in the 300 meter dash with Hirst leading the way with a 24th place finish with Cox in 25th and Lewis in 27th.
Not to be outdone, Hirst finished 17th in the 1000 meter run with a new best time of 3:14.80 as Brett Lewis came in 26th with his own personal best of 3:25.47.
