B-G boys earn big league win over UV

BAINBRIDGE – The Bainbridge-Guilford Bobcats boys basketball team is riding on a three-game win streak after defeating UV 71-26 in Thursday’s league matchup. B-G also improves to an impressive 3-1 record in the MAC, tied with Sidney and Unatego-Franklin in second place behind Delhi. B-G does have the best overall record amongst other league opponents as they are sitting at 7-3 on the season.
B-G pushed 20 points before halftime and then hit 23 points in the final eight minutes of the contest. The Bobcats also limited the Storm to six points in the second half after leading 34-20 at the break.
All nine players scored for the Bobcats with Cyrus Megale leading the team with 15 points, hitting four three’s. Colin Dailey and Declyn Marshfield both finished with 10 points, adding on to the team’s total of 10 three’s in the contest. Michael Lipani and Jaedan Walling both had eight as Aidan Haynes and Dominick Johnson both dropped in seven points. Levi Fletcher scored four points while Tim Kinter was held to a single basket in the fourth quarter.
Denzel Peter led the Storm with eight points in the loss as Haywood Edwards, Preston York, and Kaleb Smith all contributed with four points. Isaiah Salimbangon and Seth Meagley chipped in two points as Peyton Stevens and Zac Harris both scored a single free-throw.
B-G (7-3) takes on a tough non-league opponent as they head to Chenango Valley on Monday at 7 p.m. while UV (4-7) looks to get back on track against Harpursville on Tuesday at 7:15 p.m.
