UV/GMU/Norwich bowlers sweep Afton/Harpursville
NEW BERLIN – The Unadilla Valley/GMU/Norwich bowlers hosted Afton/Harpursville on Friday afternoon for a MAC league matchup. Both the Storm boys and girls picked up 4-0 wins to earn the sweep.
The Storm boys defeated the Crimson Knights 3134 to 2296. Dawson Robinson led the team with a 740 with a 246, a 257, and a 237. Jacob Prentice followed with a 625 with games of a 203, 247, and a final 175.
Brayden Prentice rolled a 594 series with a 202 in his first game. David Montgomery had a 570 series with a 205 in his second game as Teagin Eccleston and Kameran Franklin split action on the lanes. Eccleston bowled two games of a 225 and a 201 to finish with a 436 as Franklin rolled a 179.
For Afton/Harpursville, Nicholas Farnham led the team with a 523 with a 207 in his final game. Braedyn Barton had a 512 series with a 213 in his second game. Makim DiRosa and Easton Bagg both finished with a 425 series as Brayden Holden finished with a 411.
The UV/GMU/Norwich girls earned the 2364 to 652 win over the short-handed Crimson Knights. Shelby Rose led the Storm with a 578 series, including a 203 in her second game. Amelia Beckwith added a 487 as Natalie Smith rolled a 484 series with two 153’s. Layla Stevens finished with a 445 series and Sarina Bell bowled a 430 series.
Morgan Crosby and Grace Sabol led the Crimson Knights. Crosby came away with a 391 series with a 142 in her first game. Sabol finished with a 261 series with a 109 in her first game.
UV/GMU/Norwich heads to Sidney on Tuesday at 3:45 p.m. while Afton/Harpursville hosts Greene/Oxford at the same time.
