RENY donates to Roots and Wings

NORWICH - Retired Educators of New York Chenango (RENY) donated $600 to Chenango County nonprofit Roots and Wings. The money was raised over two years through raffles and donations.

Roots and Wings is an emergency services and self-sufficiency program through Catholic Charities, located at 105 Leilani Lane in Norwich. The nonprofit provides a food pantry, thrift store, prescription assistance, the Food $ense program, SNAP assistance and pre-screening, and disaster relief to individuals in need in Chenango County.

The Roots and Wings thrift store is open to the public Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., and the food pantry is open Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. All services are closed daily from noon to 1 p.m.

RENY regularly hosts events and activities for their members and the public, and funds raised through these events go toward the organization's community service projects.
