S-E Winter Track at CSC League Championship

SYRACUSE – Over the weekend, the Sherburne-Earlville Timberwolves indoor track teams competed in the CSC league championship held at Onondaga Community College. The S-E girls took third behind Clinton and Little Falls and the boys also took third amongst the CSC 1 division, behind Clinton and Canastota.

Girls:
In the team relays, the girls 4x800 meter relay took second with a time of 13:40.18, behind Clinton’s 13:37.70. The team consisted of Hannah Barth, Lydia Brown, Marlie Thompson, and Samantha Garrison.
The 4x400 team took third with a team of Barth, Brown, Garrison, and Aurora Burk. Burk, Barth, Beyla Cron, and Samantha Markiewicz finished fifth in the 4x200.
Avery Solloway led S-E individually with two top finishes in the 300 meter dash and in the long jump. Solloway achieved a new personal best of 46.22 seconds in the 300 meter dash, which leads the S-E girls indoor track program, and had a new best jump of 13 feet, 11 inches in the long jump. She also took fifth in the 55 meter dash with a time of 8.09 seconds, which also leads the S-E girls indoor program as well.
Marlie Thompson took sixth in the long jump with her own new best jump of 12-2.50. Thompson finished fourth in the triple jump with a jump of 27-0.25.
Cadence Harvey led S-E in both throwing events. She finished second in the shot put with a new best throw of 27-5.25, behind Little Falls’ 29-3 . Harvey came in third in the weight throw with a new personal best of 29 feet, seven inches with Mackenzie Chase in seventh (20-2).
Chase earned a new best in the shot put event with a throw of 19-6.75 for sixth place while teammate Samantha Markiewicz finished 12th (16-5.50).
Boys:
All three of the S-E boys relay teams finished second in the meet. The 4x200 team consisted of Liam Acly, Aiden Howard, Brett Lewis, and Blake Smith, who finished behind Clinton. Both the 4x400 and 4x800 teams were led by Tristan Cox, Dominick Hirst, Brett Lewis, and Thomas Osborne.
Braden Lewis led the Timberwolves boys individually with a first place finish in the weight throw and two second place finishes in both the 600 meter run and in the shot put. Lewis threw a top finish of 37 feet, six inches in the weight throw, which is a new best for the sophomore.
He threw for 34-10.50 in the shot put for second, behind Clinton’s 37-5.25. Lewis finished second in the 600 meter run with a time of 1:35.14 behind Clinton’s 1:32.28.
Liam Acly finished sixth in the weight throw with a throw of 29 feet, 10 inches as Aiden Howland followed in seventh (26-7). Howland also took seventh in the shot put with a throw of 25 feet, two inches as Blake Smith finished eighth with a new best throw of 24-7.25.
Dominick Hirst competed in the long jump, where he finished sixth with a new best jump of 15 feet, nine inches.
