S-E boys fall short to Clinton
SHERBURNE – The Sherburne-Earlville Timberwolves boys basketball team hosted a big CSC Division I league game against Clinton on Monday night, which was their last home game before senior night on February 10. S-E came up short against the Comets 61-56.
Clinton came out strong in the first quarter, outscoring S-E 22-9. Both teams played consistently in the second quarter, both posting 16 points. The Comets took a 38-25 lead at the half.
The Timberwolves’ cut the deficit to eight entering the fourth quarter and would outscore the Comets in the second half. However, the 22 points in the first was the stand out play that helped Clinton take the overall victory.
Nick Hull led S-E with an outstanding 29 points, making six free-throws. Mike Behret added 11 points as Brayden O’Hara finished with eight points and Tomek Jusianiec with six points. Garret Winton contributed with two points in the loss.
