UV/GMU/Norwich bowlers sweep Afton/Harpursville
BAINBRIDGE – The Unadilla Valley/GMU/Norwich bowlers traveled to Galaxy Bowl to take on Afton/Harpursville on Monday afternoon. The Storm boys and girls earned the sweep against the Crimson Knights.
The girls defeated Afton/Harpursville 2449-542. Shelby Rose led the Storm with a 527 series, with a 206 in her second game. Natalie Smith added a 525 series with a 196 in her second game.
Layla Stevens rolled a 520 series as Amelia Beckwith had a 486 and Lee Clipston with a 390 series.
Morgan Crosby led the Crimson Knights with a 287 series as Grace Sabol had a 255 series.
The Storm boys picked up the 2839-1978 victory with Jacob Prentice paving the way with a 673 series, including games of a 211, 236, and 226. Teagin Eccleston finished behind him with a 570 series with a 223 in his second game.
Brayden Prentice had a 213 in his first game to finish with a 566 series. Kameran Franklin rolled a 557 series with two 190s as Tyler Bates rounded out the Storm with a 473 series.
The Crimson Knights split time on the lanes with Braedyn Barton, Maxim DiRosa, Julian Hosier, Easton Bagg, Brayden Holden, Dominic Westbrook, and Nick Farnham all bowling two games each. Jordan Truman bowled one game, where he finished with a 125.
Holden led the team with a 285 series as Bagg finished with a 280 series and Farnham with a 276. Westbrook added a 267 series while Barton had a 261 and DiRosa with a 249 series. Hosier finished with a 235 series.
UV/GMU/Norwich heads to the MAC Baker Tournament at Ripics on Wednesday before hosting Hancock on Friday afternoon. Afton/Harpursville will also be the Baker Tournament before heading to Sidney on February 3.
