B-G girls defeat Maine-Endwell
BAINBRIDGE – On Thursday, the Bainbridge-Guilford Bobcats girls basketball team hosted non-league opponent Maine-Endwell, where they came away with a 50-36 victory.
B-G held the Spartans to single-digit scoring in the first, third, and fourth quarters while M-E’s two leading scorers amped up in the second quarter to combine for the team’s 14 points before halftime.
The Bobcats stayed consistent offensively throughout the contest while the defense continued to excel when needed. B-G picked up a total of 18 defensive rebounds and seven steals.
Marissa Mayo led the Bobcats with 11 points, where she went three-for-five at the free-throw line and contributed with a team-high nine rebounds. Peyton Umbra, Jalyn Winans, and Jayslin Henderson all finished with 10 points. Tori Suda had eight points, including four free-throws, as Emma Kinter made one free-throw in the first quarter. The Bobcats went 17-for-27 at the free-throw line with everyone getting a chance to sink in foul shots.
