UV girls fall short to Walton/Downsville

WALTON – After some time off, the Unadilla Valley Storm girls basketball team traveled to Walton to take on Walton/Downsville in a MAC league matchup. UV came up short 29-21 in a real defensive battle as both teams held one another to single-digit scoring.

Walton/Downsville had the slight edge on the Storm from the start before UV made adjustments and improved after halftime. However, they could not make a full comeback and were held to just four points in the final eight minutes.

UV’s Shyla Roberts led the team with eight points with six of the team’s 12 points in the third quarter. Natalie Crandall finished with four points in the third quarter as well. Emmalyn Montgomery had three free-throws in the first quarter as Adrienne Hodge, Kora Johnson, and Myriah Taylor were all held to two points.
