UV girls fall to Deposit-Hancock in MAC playoffs

NEW BERLIN – After defeating Deposit-Hancock in a rescheduled regular season game the night before, the Unadilla Valley Storm girls’ basketball team hosted the Eagles this time for round robin action of the MAC playoffs on Wednesday. UV fell to Deposit-Hancock 53-31 in the Storm’s final home game of the season.

UV had a strong first half but were held to just eight points in the second half. Deposit-Hancock’s Sarah Gross and Ivy Tice helped the Eagles offense stay strong throughout the game. Sarah Gross led all scorers with 21 points.

Adrienne Hodge led the Storm with nine points with three three-pointers. Natalie Crandall had a three in the third quarter, along with Hodge for the team’s six quarter points after halftime. She also had four points in the second quarter to finish with seven points overall.

Myriah Taylor scored six points in the first half as Shyla Roberts had four points before the break. Emmalyn Montgomery and Allisyn Daniell added two points each. Daniell’s two points were the team’s only points scored in the final quarter. Avery Golliver contributed with one free throw.
