WALTON – The Oxford Blackhawks boys’ basketball team traveled to Walton High School to take on Walton/Downsville on Tuesday evening. Both teams battled it out for a chance to advance to the boys MAC championship game against top-seed Delhi. Oxford, who had fought hard against Walton/Downsville a few games ago, could not pull out a victory as they fell 60-51.

Oxford’s Donovan Rickard led the team with 16 points as Ben Sheridan added 14 in the loss.

Walton/Downsville will face Delhi in the MAC boys championship at 1 p.m. at Oxford High School on Saturday. Following the boys game, the MAC girls championship game will be played, where Greene will take on Sidney. Oxford could play Sidney, who lost to Delhi, in the consolation round, but it is undetermined at this time.
