S-E boys drop to Marcellus in sectionals

MARCELLUS – After knocking off Canastota to advance to the next round of the Section III, Class B tournament, the Sherburne-Earlville Timberwolves boys’ basketball team traveled to face top-seed and number one team in the state, Marcellus. S-E dropped 72-42 to finish the 2024-25 season with a 7-15 record.
Nick Hull led the Timberwolves with 19 points as Garret Winton followed with 11 points. Brayden O’Hara had five points as Parker Goedel and Mike Behret each added a three-pointer. Charlie Potrzeba had one free throw.
“We played so hard last night,” Kevin Vibbard Jr. said. “I am so proud of the way my boys played against the number one team in the state. They are a very talented group and our guys did not back down. “I’m proud of them all, especially the group of seniors I had.”
