Board of Supervisors to hire third party consultant to manage transportation funding

NORWICH — Recently, the Chenango County Board of Supervisors reached out to New York State Department of Transportation (NYSDOT) to review 2023 and 2024 Chenango County mass transportation.
NYSDOT recommended the county contract a third-party consultant to manage state and federal public transit funding received by Chenango County for its public transit system.
During the February Board of Supervisors meeting, County Treasurer William Craine was authorized to make a transfer of funds in the amount of $50,000 from an Appropriation Account to a newly created Appropriation Account for Contractual Services.
