Norwich police announce arrest of alleged drug dealer following undercover investigation

NORWICH - A Norwich resident was arrested this week on felony drug and forgery charges following a police investigation into the sale of cocaine, methamphetamine, and counterfeit U.S. currency, according to the Norwich Police Department.

Leroy Lamar Lindsey, 37, was charged with criminal sale of a controlled substance (class B felony), criminal possession of a controlled substance (class D felony), and first-degree forgery (class C felony).

According Norwich Police Chief Reuben J. Roach, the investigation began in January 2025, focusing on illegal drug sales in the city. During the course of the investigation, undercover officers allegedly purchased cocaine and methamphetamine from Lindsey. Authorities also allege that he was circulating counterfeit $100 bills during this period.
