Turn stress into a strength at 'The Stress Advantage' on April 6

NORWICH—The Norwich Family YMCA and Commerce Chenango have partnered to offer "The Stress Advantage," a free presentation by Norwich native and Stress Physiologist Dr. Rebecca Heiss on Sunday, April 6.

The event will begin with a social hour and light refreshments at 2 p.m., with the approximately 45-minute presentation starting at 3 p.m.

Dr. Heiss has studied the science behind stress and fear for several years, including research that has been deemed "transformative" by the National Science Foundation. She has also written two books, "Instinct" and "Springboard," and now works as a corporate keynote speaker, offering "high-energy keynotes that empower audiences to excel through change, boost performance, and unleash their full potential," according to her website, RebeccaHeiss.com.

In the past, Dr. Heiss has provided presentations to companies like Proctor and Gamble, Visa, Lockheed Martin, Pepsi, Charles Schwab, and more.

The Stress Advantage presentation focuses on stress and burnout, the biological root of these ailments, how to engage with fears, and how to recalibrate stress response to work as a benefit rather than a hindrance.

The event is free and suitable for all ages. Individuals can register ahead of time by calling the YMCA Front Desk at 607-336-9622, or simply show up the day of the event.
