NORWICH – The Norwich Purple Tornado flag football team is off to a hot 4-0 start, after defeating Greene 32-19 on Friday night in front of their home crowd.

After Greene punted the ball on their first possession, it didn’t take long for Norwich to strike first. Josey Ryan went all the way for the score on Norwich’s first touch of the game.

Greene nearly had a touchdown themselves on their next drive, but Audra Doll’s nice run was negated by a flag on the offense. Greene tried on fourth down, but turned the ball over on downs after a great flag pull by McKenzie Brunick on the Norwich defense.

However, Norwich also turned the ball over on downs after JoJo Trepa pulled Josey Ryan’s flag on fourth down, giving the Trojans offense some motivation on their next drive.

Doll found Nadia Brown on a pass before taking it 30 yards herself for the score. The one-point conversion was no good, where Norwich held a 7-6 lead.

Norwich’s Kenzie Brunick scored off a hand-off from Josey Ryan to go up by seven with 6:23 left in the first half.
