Norwich baseball falls to Sidney

NORWICH – Continuing a five-game home stand, the Norwich Purple Tornado baseball team hosted non-league opponent Sidney on Friday night, where they fell in a 6-1 affair, despite outhitting Sidney 5-3.

After three scoreless innings, Sidney got on the board first before adding one more run in the top of the fifth to take an early 2-0 lead.

However, Norwich answered back in the bottom of the fifth inning as Kaden Downey led the inning off with a single, advanced to second on a passed ball, and went to third on Graham Burton’s single. Downey came in to score Norwich’s lone run on a ground-out RBI by Noah Eddy.
