NY State Police arrest Broome County man for child porn and drug charges
BROOME COUNTY - On Friday, April 4, the New York State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigations at Endwell with the assistance of the Troop C Computer Crimes and the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, arrested Thomas P. Murray, 33, of Johnson City, for possessing child pornography and possession of suspected illegal substances.
During the execution of a search warrant on April 4, on Zoa Avenue in the Village of Johnson City, Murray was found to be in possession of images consistent with child sexual exploitation. Murray was also found to be in possession of suspect illegal illicit substances and materials consistent with manufacturing methamphetamine which prompted the response of the Contaminated Crime Scene Emergency Response Team (CCSERT).
Following an investigation on scene, Murray has been charged with the following crimes: Criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third degree, a class “B” felony; Criminal possession of a controlled substance in the fourth degree, a class “C” felony; Unlawful manufacture of methamphetamine in the third degree, a class “D” felony; Promoting a sexual performance by a child, a class “D” felony; Possessing a sexual performance by a child (five counts), a class “E” felony; Criminally using drug paraphernalia in the second degree, a class “A” misdemeanor.
Murray was processed by State Police at Endwell and then turned over to the Broome County jail for centralized arraignment.
