Norwich baseball drops to Owego

NORWICH – The Norwich Purple Tornado baseball team played in its fourth-of-fifth home game to start the 2025 season against Owego on Monday evening. Norwich suffered the 17-2 loss but evenly matched the River Hawks with seven hits.

After being down 7-0 in the bottom of the second, Norwich got on the board as Owen Olds hit a double and came in to score on Connor White’s RBI single.

Norwich scored their second run in the fifth as Noah Eddy had reached on a fielder’s choice and advanced to second on an error, which put him in scoring position for Hunter Coombs. Coombs reached on an error, which sent Eddy home.
